What Shipped at Rare Data: Q3 2026
A quarter of instruments and connections: COMPA on iPhone and iPad, Quota’s desktop releases, and a standalone Link Audio path out of the Akai Force.

A lot of the work this quarter made it into downloads before it made it into the blog. This index catches the writing up with the releases, and gives the different projects a place in one timeline.
COMPA reached iPhone and iPad
COMPA launched on September 9. The public app is now at version 1.3, with MIDI Capture, improved Audio Recall, aligned CHOMP stem layers, and other workflow changes.
The launch recap explains what is available. The Pi-to-iOS story explains how it got here. The existing 1.3 release recap remains the detailed account of that update.
The desktop tools grew
Quota FX 1.3 expands the performance surface as well as the effect library. Read why I wanted an effect rack you could play, or go directly to the release notes.
Quota DS 1.5 builds a performance and arrangement workflow around the transcript sampler. The workshop story follows that idea from IPC and Mini to DS. The product article includes the current 1.5.1 maintenance notes.
Quota Stems 1.2 adds a six-way drum split and clearer output presets. Why another separation pass mattered is the story; the release note covers the current 1.2.1 build.
Quota Kits 1.3 adds portable sampler-project workflows. The portability story is about keeping the decisions with the sounds. The format notes describe what travels and what has to change.
The Force stayed standalone
Force Link Audio publishes the instrument’s main stereo mix to a compatible Link Audio receiver, using MockbaMod. The build story includes the original demonstration, the latency correction, and the limits of the tested setup.
The earlier PyLinkAudio pre-alpha is part of the same research thread, with its first public release in May. It is included here as background, not as a new Q3 release.
An October follow-up
On October 1, the desktop Quota prices came down and Voice became free. That change happened just after the quarter closed. The pricing announcement has the full details and the free activation path for existing Voice builds.
Still on the bench
COMPA 1.4 is coming soon. Its public preview describes capture, dialogue, DJ and routing work in development. It is not a released update. Read the 1.4 preview.
The aim for this journal is simple: explain the decisions behind the tools, and point to the product notes when you need exact versions, formats, and downloads.
