The products

  • Quota StemsFree stem separator

Splits any song — from a file, a YouTube link, or a whole playlist — into up to 10 stems, then builds a ready-to-play Ableton or Akai Force/MPC set, warped and cue-pointed. No account, runs offline.

  • QuotaFXSP-404-style FX plugin

26 hands-on performance effects with true zero latency. AU / VST3 / Standalone, plus iOS and a real-DSP browser demo.

  • Quota MiniDialogue sampler

Transcribes any clip; highlight the words you want and drop them straight onto pads. Sample by reading, not scrubbing.

  • Quota KitsSampler-kit builder

Turn tracks, loops, and separated stems into ready-to-play kits — including the 128-sample pad and a Build .adg → Live export.

  • CompaOpen-source Pi controller

Turns a Raspberry Pi touchscreen into a control brain for the Roland SP-404 MK2, AIRA P-6, and Ableton Push 2 — with network audio and recall. Free, MIT-licensed.

Founder

Mac Digi has been making beats for over 20 years — he started recording at eight and never stopped. Born in Dayton, Ohio and based in Southern California, he came up on MPCs and the original SP-404, and now designs, codes, ships, and supports everything at Rare Data himself. He spent time in the U.S. Navy and a decade-plus in IT before building the tools he wished he had as a producer — which became Rare Data.

Boilerplate

Rare Data is a Southern California studio building music software and hardware, including the Quota suite of producer tools — led by the free Quota Stems separator — and the open-source Compa sampler controller. Everything is built and supported by founder and producer Mac Digi.
