New everyday prices for Quota — and Voice is now free

I want more people making things with Quota. Starting October 1, 2026, the desktop apps have new, permanently lower prices, and Quota Voice is free.

These are the regular prices going forward. You do not need a coupon or a subscription.

The new desktop prices

Quota DS — $19.99. Transcribe dialogue locally, find the line you want, and turn it into playable audio or video samples. Explore DS.

Quota FX — $19.99. Hands-on performance effects for your desktop music setup. The desktop license covers the available Mac and Windows formats. Explore FX.

Quota Kits — $9.99. Turn a folder of samples into kits for your DAW or sampler. Explore Kits.

The desktop Collection — $39.99. DS, FX, and Kits in one purchase. Bought separately, those three cost $49.97; the Collection saves $9.98. Get the Collection.

Quota Voice, Quota Stems, and Quota HQ — free. Local dictation and voice commands, stem separation, and the install/update hub. No Collection purchase is needed to use the free apps.

Prices are in USD. Checkout shows the applicable tax and local-currency total.

Voice is free to download and keep

Voice is the Quota app I use most often in my own day. I use it to dictate into other apps, including the messages I write while developing this software. I want more people to have access to that.

Dictation runs locally on your computer. Voice can also run commands in the other Quota apps, and connect to the Quota Voice Remote companion. Commands that use paid apps still need those apps and their licenses.

Current Voice builds may still show the old trial countdown or ask for a license. The Voice page now provides a free permanent activation key, and new download emails include it too. It works with existing Mac and Windows builds, including expired trials. Your transcripts and settings stay put.

Download Voice or activate your existing copy for free.

Why I am changing the prices

Quota started with tools I wanted in my own workflow. I would like more people to use them, find their own ways of working with them, and share what they make. These prices make it easier to pick up one useful tool or the full desktop Collection.

COMPA is my main development focus now, and parts of the Quota workflow are finding a home there too. The desktop apps remain useful on their own, and I plan to maintain them and improve them as useful ideas come along.

What stays the same

The paid desktop apps are one-time purchases, with trials available. Existing licenses keep working; you do not need to buy your app again because the price changed. Quota HQ remains the free way to install and update the apps.

Desktop purchases and App Store purchases remain separate. A desktop FX license does not unlock the iPhone/iPad edition, and the desktop Collection does not include COMPA. See the COMPA page for its current App Store offer and regional pricing.

Thank you to everyone who has tried Quota, sent feedback, or shared it with someone. I hope the new prices give you a reason to try a tool you have been curious about — and make something with it.
